Exploring Durango, Honeyville and the Pinkerton Hot Springs

Our first stop was the Durango Welcome Center. We picked up some info on the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

Friendly helpful employees.

Honeyville.

Honey, honey and more honey. Anything and everything that can be made with honey can be found here. I would sound like Forest Gump naming shrimp dishes if I started listing all the different honey products they offer. If I (Scott) had to pick just one item, it would be the Honey Whiskey. Not too sweet and very smooth.

Just down the road from Honeyville was the Pinkerton Hot Springs. It reminded me of something out of Jurassic Park. The water supposedly has medicinal properties.

While exploring downtown we came across the Durango Crafts and Spirits Tasting Room.

Durango Crafts and Spirits

They produce Soiled Doves Vodka. Scott had the Clipper. A Bloody Mary garnished with lemon, cherry tomato, pepperoncini and celery. Dana had the Kellenberger julep. Fresh mint muddled with raspberry simple syrup and raspberry infused vodka. Both were tasty.

Join us tomorrow for a ride on the Durango Silverton train.
